Feature Friday: Gabe Olvera's Stock 2024 TRD Off-Road 4Runner
Share
Not every Feature Friday rig rolls in on 35s with a build list a mile long. Gabe Olvera's 2024 TRD Off-Road is stock — and that's not a placeholder until the mods begin. It's the plan.
Gabe (@Gabe.Olvera) daily-drives his 5th gen and points it down soft trails and ranch roads when the week allows, and his whole approach can be summed up in his own words: it "rides good stock," and he plans to keep it that way.

Stock, On Purpose
In a hobby that treats stock as a starting line, Gabe treats it as the destination — and a factory TRD Off-Road makes a pretty strong case for him. Out of the box it already brings the gear most people add later: a locking rear differential, Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select, TRD wheels, and that hood scoop. There's no gap between what the truck is and what Gabe actually asks of it, so there's nothing on it begging to be fixed.
Asked if there's anything he'd do differently if he started over, his answer was one word: "Nope."

The Daily-and-Trail Balance
This is a truck that works for a living. It handles the daily drive all week, then spends its off time out on a Texas ranch — dirt roads, gates, grass, and sky for miles. That's exactly the life the TRD Off-Road trim was built for, and Gabe's photos make the argument better than a spec sheet could: no posing on boulders, no flex shots, just a good truck in the places it actually goes.
It's a good reminder that "built" isn't the only way to enjoy one of these. A stock 4Runner on a soft trail, driven by somebody who knows it well, is having just as much fun as the rigs with five-figure mod lists.

What's Next
Nothing - and that's the point. Gabe's plan is to keep driving it daily and running soft trails for as long as the stock setup keeps doing everything he asks. If something ever does change, it'll be because the truck asked for it, not because the internet did. Honestly? We respect it.

And if your 4Runner deserves a Friday of its own - stock, built, or anywhere in between - submit your ride for a future Feature Friday. Gabe just proved stock rigs are more than welcome here.
